Fundraising

1st Whitby Apple Day – Oct 16-18, 2020
Wal-Mart (Brock & Taunton)

Apple Day is one of the 3 main fundraisers for our group. Our group keeps 100% of the proceeds less the cost of apples.

Youth and parent helpers are requested to volunteer some time (one to two hours) to distribute apples and collect donations at the Wal-Mart entrance during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

Sign-up with your section Scouter for your time slot to help make this Apple Day a success. The monies raise help us to subsidize the program costs including supplies, group camp and banquet, equipment, and volunteer training. Last year we raised nearly $1,500.

Trails End Popcorn – October

60% of the sales of this product go back to the group to help offset the cost of the big camps, training and uniforms for our volunteer Scouters and a little set aside for future Scout Jamborees.

Sales take place during October with delivery in the third week of November.
Ask your section’s Scouter for an order form, then invite your friends and family to buy this tasty treat. There is a flavour for everyone.

Scoutrees, Collecting Donations for a Better Tomorrow

Scouts across Canada have planted over 50 million trees. It has been a tradition in Whitby to plant more mature trees with the guidance of the Town of Whitby, on May 2, 2020 9:00 am.

Scouts are encouraged to collect donations which may be a set amount or based on assisted planting of 20 trees. Donations of $20 or more can request a tax receipt.

Planting will take place at Cullen Park, Cochrane Street north of Taunton.
Refreshments will be provided including hot dogs and beverages (sponsored by Meridian Bank).
